The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) has suspended stockbroker Peter Suyama from the securities industry for 20 days.  Mr. Suyama consented to the suspension after FINRA alleged that in April 2019, while associated with LPL Financial LLC in McClean, Virginia, Mr. Suyama violated FINRA Rules 3280 and 2010 by participating in a private securities transaction involving the purchase of $50,000 in preferred shares of a biotechnology company without proving notice to or obtaining the firm’s approval for the transactions.  Mr. Suyama is currently associated with MML Investors Services, LLC in Glen Allen, Virginia.  Mr. Suyama was also associated with Ameriprise Financial Services from 2006 to 2017.

Peter Bruce Suyama and FINRA entered into a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (“AWC”) on June 10, 2021, after FINRA made the following allegations:

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) has barred stockbroker Michael Dellaporta, Jr. from the securities industry.  Mr. Dellaporta was expelled from the brokerage industry for refusing to cooperate with a FINRA investigation into an outside business activity.

Mr. Dellaporta, who was a broker for over forty years, most recently worked at B.B. Graham & Company, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from August 2018 to August 2019.  Previously, he was affiliated with Fusion Analytics Securities LLC, from 2015 until 2018, and Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc, from 2010 to 2015.

Since 2009, Mr. Dellaporta has been the subject of numerous customer disputes.

**Update: September 2, 2021**  On August 27, 2021, FINRA accepted Mr. Jensen’s offer to settle disciplinary proceeding No. 2018059733101.  As a result, Mr. Jensen has been suspended from associating with any brokerage firm in any capacity for six months and fined $10,000.

Former Ameriprise Financial Services Broker, Clyde Jensen, Facing Disciplinary Charges by FINRA

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) has suspended financial advisor Angel Wynette Bardeche (CRD# 4698117) from the securities industry for nine months and fined her $10,000. Ms. Bardeche was also ordered to return $5,000 worth of commissions to customers. Angel Bardeche was registered with Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio, from August 2012 until May 2019.  At that time, Ameriprise terminated her employment.

Ms. Bardeche has also received at least three customer complaints alleging that she did not disclose the surrender charges or annual fees associated with variable annuities purchases between 2013 and 2015.

A recently filed FINRA customer complaint alleges that Mr. Monshi recommended unsuitable investments in a number of business development companies (BDCs) and real estate investment trusts (REITs), as well as other high-commission illiquid investment recommendations. The allegations focus on Mr. Monshi’s time with LPL Financial from 2006 to 2015 and with Ameriprise Financial Services from 2015 to 2016. Claimants’ statement of claim, which was filed on or around September 9, 2020, seeks damages of $3.9 million.

FINRA has suspended financial advisor Drew R. Mantel from the securities industry for three months and fined him $5,000. Drew Mantel was registered with Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC in Miamisburg, Ohio, from March 2018 until November 2018.  At that time, Ameriprise terminated his employment.  Previously, he was registered with Edward Jones in Franklin, Ohio, from August 2003 until April 2018.
